Our dream.

Have we ever shared the story of our dream with you?
Well, really it all started when Matt was a wee little boy. No really, when he was just a young child, he told his parents that he would build his first home. Fast forward 20+ years... we got married and living in FL. We began looking around the area for homes to buy. Each one just not quite right. We always seemed to want to move walls or something crazy. So one day, it finally clicked... Matt's dream was always to build his first house... was that too crazy?! Heck no! We immediately began looking for lots and finally found a neighborhood that we were sure God was leading us to. After looking at every possible option in the neighborhood... we knew which lot we ReaLLy wanted... but was not lookin likely. Well... it never fails that God is sooo good and we became the proud owners of the lot our house now sits on.

Time to plan...
We started by looking at the exterior of homes and came up with an idea of what we wanted to exterior to look like. Then we found the perfect kitchen idea... i know... what?! yes, we started the inside with the kitchen... and from there just designed the house around that. It was really neat to draw it out ourselves... draw, erase, draw, erase. We loved the final design we came up with. After just a few minor changes by the engineer, we had our "official plans." We teamed up with Grand Bay Construction and our dream slowly turned into reality.

So... we are all moved in!!! It is truly amazing and we feel so incredibly blessed. We have been hard at work since we moved in... finishing up some last touches, bringing in some furniture and decorating. Before we post some of these exciting things, I thought it might be fun to make a post with pictures from over the past 5 months as the house has all come together.

ALSO, just wanted to give another HUGE THANKS to all of our friends and family who have supported us along the way. Thank you for all your help and for all your prayers. We are so excited to have everyone come and check it out. So just swing on in, anytime!

 Okay yall... we are in the home stretch! We are on schedule to get our C.O. (certificate of occupancy... i have learned so much about building haha) on Thursday!!! That means we could be moving in this weekend! Prayers are much appreciated! We are so thankful to be where we are and we definitely feel extremely blessed. Ready to share our new home with friends and family. Ready to see how God will allow us to use our home to glorify him.

 Also, super excited and thankful that Matt and I were able to spend many hours this week/weekend together, working at the house. However, we were so busy working... I didn't take as many pics as I probably should've. But we definitely had a blast doing it. Laughs, tears (the happy kind), and good memories that we will never forget.

We will share a sneak peak of some of our finishing touches below. Will be sure to take many pictures over the next few days as we finish up... and MoVe iN!!
