so close.

Yes, it has been wayyyy too long since our last post. And, yes, a WHOLE lot has happened at the house in the last 3 weeks. We are so close to being finished... it is scary.
Let's see... we left off with the cabinets going in. Since then, my wonderful husband has been hard at work. He did an AMAZING job finishing up all the interior trim and the ceilings. You will see pictures below, but when we started building the house and decided to vault the ceilings, he came up with a really neat idea to put wood on the flat parts of the ceilings upstairs. The pictures don't do it justice. It looks awesome... and I know all the hard work he put into them sure did pay off.
We have been blessed with many people who have been such a tremendous help. A huge thanks to Ed Abraham who has been there with Matt for crazy long hours.

What else? Hmmm... The interior is painted! Can't believe how good the colors turned out. The kitchen counters and sink are in. Floors went in. Hardwood throughout downstairs. Travertine in both bathrooms. And carpet in the two upstairs bedrooms. It has really brought everything together and looks awesome. Both showers are finished. AND our bathtub arrived. This is definitely my new favorite spot in the house :)

We have a lot of pictures to share... here are just a few of the highlights

we have porch lights :)

of course he had to try the stilts

cabinets.

Howdy! Very excited to share our cabinets with you! They were put in a little earlier this week. We could not be happier with them. We had them custom built by a gentleman in the area. He does such good work. And you would never believe the deal we got. They are perfect for the look we are going for. Now, we just need our appliances, countertops, and some knobs and they will be complete. Whew! So check them out below!

Can't wait to see the appliances and countertops go in!

Showing a little detail

So thankful to have my mom here for 3 weeks this summer!
She was such a huge help with the house and a blast to relax with!

curb appeal.

A big week for the curb appeal at the ol' Ellington house. And we are very excited to share it with yall. It is not quite finished but definitely getting there!

We used our leftover bricks to build our patio out behind the side porch. It turned out so good. We look forward to some fun cookouts spent out there. We also used brick for walkways and our driveway (which is my favorite).

AND... we have grass!! Sod was laid at the end of this week. Really changes the look of the house. Now we just need to finish the sod in the backyard and then we will start picking out bushes and flowers! I am not very good at this so I am up for any suggestions from my gardener friends out there.

Check out the latest pics below
