Clearing the Path
This week we started clearing the lot. It has really been such a neat experience to watch the changes each day... it looks like a new place every day! We are really excited about the land that we have been blessed with. The lot is absolutely beautiful. We are mostly excited about all of the oak trees. This truly is our paradise.
After making some final decisions on where the house will be positioned it seems to all be coming together and we can't wait to see it "come out of the ground." It is a corner lot, so the house will pretty much be right near the center. We will use one side as a driveway/courtyard/garage area. Then, we will have a small backyard and a huge side yard!

Closing Day
One step closer to building our dream home!
So where do we start? How about how this all came to be?
After looking at houses over the last 1 1/2 years and always trying to move walls and change everything about the houses... we finally realized that maybe we should build our own dream home! So we started looking around at lots in the area. We felt that God was especially calling us to a neighborhood in Santa Rosa Beach (for those who don't know it is a beach on Scenic Hwy 30A near Destin, FL). The neighborhood is perfect for us! Big lots, lots of trees, close to the beach and even a few hills... which are hard to come by around here!
So... we started doing some research on the lots available. And after finding the one we thought was perfect... we found that it was wayyyyy out of our price range. But, we made an offer anyways... Not even expecting a call back. And, well, here we are... closing day.
God has truly blessed us with this opportunity to build a home. He always has bigger plans than we ever could've imagined. I'm not sure why we ever doubt Him. He is an awesome God. We pray that we may use our home to glorify our Savior and to further his Kingdom.
